How are bike frames measured?
Bike sizes are determined by the seat tube length. This is the measurement from the centre crank axle bolt (bottom bracket) to the top of the seat tube.
Choosing the right size for you
To help you choose the right size bike, each product page suggests a height range for the various frame sizes available.
To make sure you choose the right size, we recommend you measure your height as follows:
- Stand against a wall with your shoes off
- Keep your legs together and your shoulders back
- Place a pencil flat on top of your head and mark the wall
- Measure the distance from the mark on the wall to the floor
- Measure your arm span. Hold your arms out and measure from finger tip to finger tip across the top of your chest
- To find out whether you have a short or long reach calculate your “Ape Index” (arm span minus height)
- If you have a positive Ape Index then go for the larger size. If you have a negative Ape Index then go for the smaller size.
All of our sizes take into account stand over height (clearance between the top tube and your crotch area) and allow for 1 to 2 inches clearance.
Cycle schemes are government backed initiatives that allow you to save up to 42% off the price of a new bike through tax and National Insurance savings. They’re open to all UK residents and are available to all customers looking to purchase a new bike. Your employer must be signed up with the one of the schemes below before placing an order.

What can I buy with the scheme?
All the bikes we have available on our website including custom builds are available on cycle to work schemes. You can also add accessories to your order such as locks, lights, helmets etc.
How do I place an order?
You must contact us to receive your quote, you cannot do this yourself. Before placing a cycle scheme order, we recommend you check all of the below. Once you’re happy and you’ve decided what you want to order, email email@example.com listing your full order, contact details (email and phone), delivery address, employer name and employer address. We’ll then respond detailing the next steps.
Make sure you find out the following from your employer and are happy to proceed:
- What is the price limit for your cycle to work scheme?
- Can additional top-up payments be made on top of the cycle to work voucher?
- How long does it usually take your employer to supply the information to the scheme and to us?
- What are the terms & conditions from your employer and the scheme provider?
How long does the process take?
From the date of the order, you have 28 days to provide us with the voucher. We will contact you once the voucher is received to collect any additional payments (including the admin fee). Once the balance has been paid, we would aim to have the bike built as soon as possible. If a voucher is not provided within 28 days and no contact has been provided to advise us of a delay, your order will be cancelled.
Please Note: All our bikes are built to order. We begin scheduling your bike to be built once we have received your Cycle to Work voucher and have taken the full remaining balance of any additional payments, such as the admin fee.
How do I provide a certificate/voucher to Mango Bikes?
You have two options, but for both please make sure a photocopy of your Driver’s License or Passport)is included as well as the order reference.

Who is the legal owner of the bike?
Your employer remains the legal owner of the bike until the end of the lease period. At that point your employer may choose to either keep the bike or sell it to you for a “nominal sum” as laid out in the terms of their scheme.
Can I order a bike with a higher value than the voucher and pay the remaining balance myself?
We have no issue with overspend but we do advise you check that your company allows this since not all companies or cycle to work scheme providers do.

Is there a fee to use finance?
In order for us to provide finance as a payment option we add a small £20 fee to your total. We are charged for every finance order placed and so we split the cost with you to make offering finance affordable for both sides. The fee is added to the total amount that you finance, and so is not an extra up-front charge.
Am I eligible for finance?
Pay4Later will only consider your application if:
- You are 18 or over, and employed at least 16 hours per week, or are retired and in receipt of a private or company pension (aged 50 or over at date of application)
- You have a good credit history with no late payments, debt relief orders, CCJs, IVAs or bankruptcies
- You are a permanent UK resident and able to supply a UK address history for the last 3 years
How long does it take to apply online?
Our online application form typically takes less than 3 minutes to complete. Your application is then instantly sent to the finance company and they will typically respond with their decision in around 10 seconds. Some applications may take longer to process. If for any reason we can’t give you an instant decision you will be notified on screen as part of the application process and also by e-mail, with a follow up e-mail as soon as a decision is confirmed.
Can I cancel my credit agreement if I change my mind?
You have the right under section 66A of the Consumer Credit Act 1974 to withdraw from the agreement without giving any reason before the end of 14 days (beginning with the day you receive your delivery).
Will the finance company perform a credit check?
Yes. A credit check forms part of the automated decision making process and is part of a responsible lending policy.
Do I need a bank account?
Yes. You must have a UK bank account capable of accepting Direct Debits.
Do I need to pay a deposit?
Yes. If your credit application is accepted, you will be required to pay a deposit online, using a credit or debit card. The amount of the deposit is shown in the credit summary (displayed on the top left hand side of the screen throughout the credit application form) and on the credit agreement itself.
How do I repay the loan?
Your monthly repayments are collected by Direct Debit.

How much does the loan cost?
The total cost of the loan is shown clearly on the finance agreement.
Are there any other charges?
If you fail to pay any amount you owe under the Credit Agreement by the date it is due, the finance company may charge you interest on that amount, they may also levy additional fees – details of these can be found in your copy of the credit agreement which is available to you as part of the application process and also supplied to you as part of the welcome pack you will receive following acceptance of finance.
How long before I have to start to repay the loan?
The finance company will write to you to confirm the date that your repayments will commence. The first payment is typically due 30 days following the date of delivery of your order.

When you place an order with us, your bike is built from the ground up by trained bike technicians in our UK warehouse. Your bike and its parts go through a number of various quality tests before, during and after assembly. We also ensure that you bike will be “good to go” as soon as you’ve got it built out the box. This means that your brakes will arrive with the correct pad alignment, your chain will arrive at the right tension and your tyres will be inflated to the correct pressure and so on.
As soon as your order is placed, it will be put into a build schedule and you’ll be kept up to date at each stage of the build.
Once your bike has been built it will be put on a next working day service to the UK and on a 2-3 working day service to Europe. When your order is dispatched you’ll receive an email from DX/UPS with an estimated delivery date and tracking information.

Depending on the item(s) ordered the courier may vary between DX, UPS and Royal Mail. We aim to dispatch all UK orders within 1-2 working days. If your items are sent with DX/UPS you’ll receive an email with an estimated delivery date and tracking information. Orders shipped with Royal Mail will receive a dispatch confirmation from us.

Looking after you once you’ve chosen to become part of the Mango Bikes team is hugely important to us. Therefore all Mango Bikes come with three years warranty on the frame and one years warranty on small components. If in the unlikely event that you require to return an item or make a warranty claim, please see below. It’s our aim to provide a returns service that is as hassle-free as possible for you. If you’re not completely satisfied with an item you may return it within 30 Days of purchase for a full refund, providing it hasn’t been used.
The customer is responsible for the cost of return shipping (estimated between £20-£30 for a bike depending on courier and service used). Bike returns will also incur a £25 restocking fee.
- Put your unused, labelled item for return back in its original packaging.
- Fill in a Customer Returns Form and include this with the item you are returning.
- Post the item back to Mango Bikes (the postal address is on the bottom of the returns form) – ensure this is properly packaged so not received in a damaged. Call or email us for instructions if needed.
- Send email@example.com an email to let us know it’s coming back.
- We will be in touch if there are any issues and/or when your return has been processed.
We’ll act as quickly as possible when dealing with your return, however please allow up to 10 working days for your return to be processed. In the unlikely event that you haven’t heard from us by the 10th day, please contact our friendly customer service team via email.
Please also be aware that Mango Bikes will not cover postage costs on returns of non-faulty goods and will charge postage when sending the new item out at the standard rate. If the item is being returned as a result of our error (wrong item, damaged, defective etc.) we will refund delivery costs.
If your purchase isn’t everything you expected it to be and you wish to exchange an item the simplest and quickest thing to do is place a brand new order for your new item and return the old one to us for a full refund.
How to return a used or faulty item
All goods purchased from Mango Bikes are covered by a full three year warranty on the frame and one years warranty on small components. If you feel that your bike has developed a fault, then please email us before returning any goods – we may be able to solve your problem without the bike having to comeback.
To get the fastest response please email firstname.lastname@example.org. Please, if possible, include photographs of your bike so we can immediately start to assess the issue. We will then contact you with details to get your issue resolved.
If your bike needs to comeback to us, we will contact you with information on how to do this. Please be honest when dealing with us, we’ll try our best to resolve any problems you have as it’s in our interest to keep our customers happy.

Cancelling your order
If for whatever reason you need to cancel your order, we’ll refund the full amount of an accessory/component order provided you notify us within 24hrs of purchase. Standard stock bikes and custom bikes can be cancelled within 48hrs of purchase. If notice is given after these specified times, its likely work will have begun or your order will have already been dispatched. If this is the case and the bike parts have already been picked and allocated then a £25 restocking fee will be incurred. If work hasn’t begun or your order is still in our warehouse, we’ll do our best to honour your request to cancel.
Our policy does not affect your statutory rights. Mango Bikes does not warrant against failure or damage due to misuse such as, but not limited to incorrect installation, poor maintenance, abuse or neglect, using the product for something other than its intended purpose, alteration of the product. Mango Bikes does not cover general wear and tear on tyres, inner tubes, brakes, brake and gear cables, brake pads, light bulbs, chain rings, chains, cassettes, rims, batteries etc. Corrosion and/or deterioration caused by material fatigue defined as the natural breakdown of materials that occurs after extended use will not be covered under warranty. After the initial 30 day return period Mango Bikes reserve the right to repair/replace any defective part under warranty. Warranty is non transferable and applies to the original purchaser only. Proof of purchase is required with all potential warranty claims. Any item that is repaired or replaced under warranty will be covered by a period equal to the remaining warranty period of the original part. Usage during competitions, events, circuits or activities other than those for which the bicycle/component has been conceived will greatly reduce its useful life and is not covered under warranty. Costs incurred as a result of loss of use, as well as labor charges for part replacement or changeovers are not covered unless agreed beforehand with Mango Bikes. If a repair/replacement is not possible Mango Bikes reserve the right to offer an alternative of equal or greater value (colour may vary) or a partial refund proportional to the remaining life of the product. Always install, repair and use your product in strict compliance with the product’s instructions; failure to do so might damage the products and cause a serious accident.
